Empowering Communities: EOPCD’s Journey Toward Peace and Development

Our Vision for a Better Tomorrow

At Elaf Organization for Peace & Community Development (EOPCD), we believe in the power of humanitarian values to transform lives. Our mission is clear: to create a safe and supportive environment for those affected by war and natural disasters, ensuring that every individual can thrive and rebuild their life.

Who We Are

Founded in October 2022 in Sudan and registered in Uganda on 28 August 2024, EOPCD operates as a voluntary non-governmental organization. We are dedicated to:

  • Providing humanitarian aid
  • Facilitating early recovery
  • Promoting sustainable development goals (SDGs)
  • Supporting vulnerable communities, including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs)

Our Key Initiatives

EOPCD focuses on community-driven efforts through:

1. Income Generation Activities (IGAs)

We implement participatory planning and management to help communities recover economically. Our IGAs are tailored to mitigate the impacts of wars and natural disasters by:

  • Equipping households with skills and resources
  • Promoting entrepreneurship among youth and women groups

2. Training in Peacebuilding and Conflict Management

To foster peaceful coexistence, we provide training sessions designed to empower participants with:

  • Conflict resolution techniques
  • Strategies for community engagement

3. Agricultural Support Programs

From June 2022 to February 2023, EOPCD was actively involved in enhancing livelihoods in Sudan, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Our initiatives included:

  • Distribution of seeds and farming tools
  • Providing agricultural extension services and pest control

Although this program was halted due to the conflict, it exemplifies our hands-on approach to community support.

Our Team: Driving Change

Led by our CEO Idriss Yousif Abdelrahman, EOPCD boasts a passionate team committed to making a difference. Our organizational structure is dynamic, including:

  • Program Coordinator
  • Gender Officer
  • Protection Officer
  • Finance Officer
